Leeds met Trump in the 1970s while working as a saleswoman. Times were different, she explained in a New York Times interview before the election in 2016. According to her account, Trump groped and kissed her while the two sat next to each other in first class seats.
Whether it was 15 minutes or not, it seemed like forever, she recalled.
They served a dinner. After the dinner was cleared he began encroaching on my side of the seat, Leeds later told NPRs Audie Cornish. Mr. Trump started coming over to me and groping me and trying to embrace me. And then his hands started going up my skirt.
I dont recall saying no, I dont recall saying stop, she said. I dont recall saying anything. It was like a silent pantomime. I remember at one point looking over at the guy in the seat across the aisle, and his eyes were like bugging out of his head.
When Trump began going up my skirt, Leeds said she struggled and stood up and went to the back of the plane. When the flight landed she said that she waited for everyone to get off before she did because she didnt want to risk running into him.

(112,453 posts)The issue is that thread titles will not accept what is known as "smart punctuation". If the headline has a "straight" mark such as ' or " then it will appear in the title. However, it will ignore marks that are curved to signify either an opening or closing quotation mark or apostrophe. I frequently fix the thread titles in my OP.
While I don't use my phone to post, my understanding is that the phones default to using "smart punctuation" and that the user has to override to use the "dumb punctuation" marks instead.

(6,913 posts)I do not agree with censorship of that word here under any circumstances, but that is what Trump referred to her as for not cooperating with his advances.

(45,540 posts)it's not like Trump grabbed Ms. Leeds' waist and squeezed in front of lots of witnesses.
Ms. Leeds should resign for traumatizing Trump. He's the real victim here.

Men, multiple men, this isnt an incident that happens once in a blue moon this happens daily to women. And for them not to say, You know, thats wrong. I dont support that. Im not voting for that. I dont want that person to be leading my country. That was so painful.

18 months ago, a word like pussy was most likely not used in a newspaper.
Now he's taking another word mainstream.

(53,410 posts)What these scum do should never be whitewashed again. They leave women feeling ashamed and soiled. Its degrading and humiliating and disgusting. For women to say it made them feel uncomfortable is decidedly understating how it truly makes us feel. Along with the above stated feelings there is a lot fear of being raped or blamed for the actions of these sick individuals.

(14,592 posts)that this is the headline of an article, if it came up and bit them in the nose.
That said, good post, and good link. The more this gets out, the closer we'll be to holding the chief female-genitalia-grabber to account for his misogyny, and for his actual assaults against women.
