There's nothing in here those of us familiar with rural Alabama -- and the Black Belt in particular -- would find surprising.
Trump must be glad Rowee Mower "can't wait to bring Alabama values to Washington." It should mesh well with the plans that have already started under this POTUS.

Why most of them have televisions and refrigerators! Seriously though, if you drive through the rural parts of the country there is a lot of desperate poverty. Unfortunately these areas also tend to vote Republican which is not helping matters.
