Former President George W. Bush is respectfully declining his invitation to attend the Republican National Convention next month in Tampa, Florida. In an email sent Friday to the Associated Press, Mr. Bushs spokesman, Freddy Ford, said President Bush was grateful for the invitation, and he is confident that Mitt Romney will be a great president. But hes still enjoying his time off the political stage and respectfully declined the invitation to go to Tampa.
In a recent interview, Mr. Bush shed some light on why he has decided to reject the invitation.
Eight years was awesome, and I was famous and I was powerful. But I have no desire for fame and power anymore, said Mr. Bush in an interview with the Hoover Institutions Peter Robinson. Ive crawled out of the swamp. And, Im not crawling back in! he said. Im interested in politics. Im a supporter of Mitt Romney. I hope he does well. But he can do well without me.
___ According to this month's CBS News/New York Times poll, more voters say Bush deserves the bulk of the blame for the nation's economic downturn than think Obama bears most of the responsibility. Almost two-thirds of voters think Romney's economic policies would somewhat resemble that of Bush's.

But frankly...Willard and his Mormon Horde --- you know, 'those people' -- frankly just aren't up to our super-elite Republican specialness.
"I'm not going to lift a finger, of course. In fact, I'm going AWOL on the whole Republican-corporate electoral shitfest. Still, I am glad the WannaBe Republi-Wankers are continuing the onslaught, smothering the pathetic RepubliProles in Grade-Z mindfucking propaganda. Ha ha. Suckers."

(6,539 posts)you post this bastards picture. I try to eat at least twice a day and am unable to, after being exposed to this cesspool of decay.
Pictures of a slaughter house, I can tolerate, but this is just too much.

(129,662 posts)I believe he did that back in 2008. That way rethugs can have their cake and eat it too and the media can act "surprised" (and assume that we should be "surprised" too) that he "did appear".
