Starting an Oregon $12 minimum wage campaign

With progressives in both California and Washington (and some conservatives, too!) now openly touting a $12 minimum wage at the state level, I am disappointed that there is no sign of action in Oregon. I'd like some feedback as to how I could help to 'seed' a state minimum wage campaign here. I think $12 in today's dollars is a good target to aim for, which means we add whatever inflation occurs between 2014 and the year the wage is fully phased in.

Any ideas who to talk to? I'm sure there are other Oregonians out there who feel exactly the same way I do, and want to organize some kind of initial campaign planning.

Not sure how active they are, but the NYC branch has been pretty successful (and the one that's started here in DC recently has been doing good work). You could also try looking for local members of Democracy for America; the group here is pretty active, but I get the sense that other groups aren't as much. I know that Organizing for America has also tried to become a Democratic activist force, but I'm not sure how successful they've been (they don't seem to be much of a presence around here).

Good luck!
