Jeb Bush’s web chief quits after report on embarrassing post about Martin Luther King Jr.
Source: The Raw Story
Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bushs (R) new chief technology officer misrepresented civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. in an effort to disparage the Black community and supporters of affirmative action, the Huffington Post reported on Tuesday.
Ethan Czahor was hosting a radio show at East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania in 2008 when he wrote a blog post, since deleted, with an advisory for readers who were white liberal who feels guilty for being white. The post and the site are inactive, the Post reported, but they were preserved on the Internet Archive.
Martin Luther King, Jr. was a well-dressed, extremely well-spoken man; he didnt have his pants sagged to his ankles, and he wasnt delivering his speech in jibberish or slang (ie. he wasnt speaking like a rapper), Czahor wrote. He understood that looking respectable and speaking clearly and concisely isnt a trait of white men its a trait of intelligent men.
Update, 9:07 p.m. EST: CNBC reported that Czahor resigned from Bushs political action committee on Tuesday night.

(20,166 posts)He was fired from Bush I's presidential campaign in '92 after it was revealed that he planted a negative news story.
As we all know, he went on to be more than just a footnote in the Bush family's part in the history of contemporary politics.

(3,741 posts)just another a hole exposed to the light of day and that can't defend his egregious behavior .... but maybe a Repub super PAC has hired him so he can ply his ugliness undetected, help bring the knuckle dragger's into the inner workings of the inter-webs.

But notice....Jeb didn't mind him insulting women......but when it turns out he is a racist too.....well that's a bridge too far!
In fact every racist I ever met....was a big ol Misogynist too!

This guy is a real piece of work.

(21,115 posts)wow he must think he is irresistable...I think he must be overcompensating....
By the way, wonder if he knows....women are not too fond of burping men either...

(9,350 posts)For me this is one of those instances where I say hopefully he is joking. Seriously, he burps at the gym so gay guys know he is not available. That just sounds so foolish to me.

(23,123 posts)Yeah, the good ole' boys don't mind a little "wumun hazing" that's just boys being boyz. Saying something racist about a man, well that's not to be tolerated. He should have been fired for both in a balanced world, neither racism nor misogyn should be given a pass.

(15,242 posts)The best example of "gibberish" I ever heard came out of the mouth of Jeb Bush's brother. I have often wondered starting around 1995 what some famous people (including Martin Luther King) would have made of the current state of affairs. Since most of those I admired were murdered or died under mysterious circumstance it would have been interesting but none of us will never know for sure, people change over time. This judgmental boorish clown should not invoke the name of Martin Luther King Jr. what he said is offensive.

(1,245 posts)I mean ... he IS right about MLK ... that's all true and everything ...
I guess, being white and all ... I just 'don't get' these things, whatever it is that makes this so patently and egregiously offensive.
Not saying I'd would ever say crap like this, or not look askance at someone saying it in my presence ... and I LOVE that it makes toolbag Jeb look bad for hiring him, but ... in the pantheon of 'racist shit' I've heard in my day, this is about as 'tactful' as this sorta talk comes ... and seems more aimed towards lauding MLK than anything else, but ... again ... sometimes I find my 'liberal outrage detector' a bit ... de-synced from prevailing DU wisdom.
