No ruling on Nebraska's gay marriage ban

Seven same-sex couples hope a federal judge will block Nebraska's ban on gay marriage, but the judge isn't issuing an immediate ruling.

The ACLU representing seven same-sex couples will go before a federal court judge Thursday, hoping to overturn the state's ban on gay marriage.

The American Civil Liberties Union of Nebraska is challenging the constitutionality of the state's ban.

U.S. District Judge Joseph Bataillon held a hearing Thursday. The ACLU wanted him to order the state to recognize same-sex marriages immediately while the lawsuit progresses.
