Governor Scott Walker

WASHINGTON (CNN) — Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker let out his frustration with the media this weekend over Twitter, an attempt to regain control of the narrative surrounding his refusal to comment on former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani’s remarks questioning whether Obama “loves” America.

On Saturday, Walker decried the media’s “gotcha game,” and on Sunday he tweeted a selfie of himself and his son visiting the White House with the rest of the governors in town for the National Governors Association meeting.

“Enough with the media’s gotcha game, we started Our American Revival to talk about big, bold ideas,” Walker tweeted Saturday night, with a link to his website.

The picture he tweeted on Sunday night featured Walker and his son in the foyer of the White House.

“Alex and I in the White House for the National Governors Association dinner,” he tweeted with the pic.

Walker campaign raising money off reporter questions on Obama, Giuliani

...............Reporters since have been asking Walker if he agreed with Giuliani's question, and a Washington Post reporter asked the guv if he believes Obama is a Christian. He answered he didn't know, though a spokeswoman later told the paper he was trying to make a point by not answering such questions and "Of course the governor thinks the president is a Christian."

Walker's state campaign sent a fundraising request playing off the controversy.

"Your support will show the clueless and mindless journalistic herd that you know what matters most and that it is not the pointless minutiae that they are pushing," the appeal read.

The DNC slammed Walker for his answers over the weekend...........

twitter maxes out at 140 characters. He was just trying to be efficient.

Actually, now that I think about it, it seems more like he deliberately used "I" instead of "me" to appear intelligent, and of course got it completely wrong.

You wouldn't say, "Me am in the White House," would you? You would say, "I am in the White House."

So it's also "Alex and I."

It's a sentence fragment, which makes it problematic, but the tweet has no verb so the verb is probably implicit, as in

&quot This is a picture of) Alex and me in the White House for the National Governors Association dinner."

Politicians and corporate executives are absolutely terrified of using "me" incorrectly and will go to great lengths to avoid it by using either "I" or "myself" instead. In nine out of 10 instances, that usage is incorrect.

Common violations include variations on the following

This is a picture of Alex and myself. (WRONG)
This is a picture of Alex and me. (RIGHT)

The Koch Brothers joined Alex and I at the National Governors Association dinner. (WRONG)
The Koch Brothers joined Alex and myself at the National Governors Association dinner. (WRONG)
The Koch Brothers joined Alex and me at the National Governors Association dinner. (RIGHT)

Twitter forces you to leave out words -- and I took it for a compressed version of "Alex and I (are) in the White House..."

But you're probably right that it should be taken as &quot This is a picture of) Alex and me in the White House..."

So yeah. I concede.
