Turnout light as Election Day begins

A surge in early voters over the weekend was not reflected in turnout at some polling places on a frigid Election Day morning.
Some veteran poll watchers say the pace of voters was very slow. At Kelvyn Park Public School, for instance, in the 31st Ward, there had been just half a dozen voters by 8 a.m.
Its been a quiet start to the morning so far, Langdon D. Neal, chairman of the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners, told reporters Tuesday morning.
Chicago voters are deciding all 50 members of the City Council as well as voting for mayor. Incumbent Mayor Rahm Emanuel is facing four challengers: Ald. Bob Fioretti (2nd); Cook County Commissioner Jesus Chuy Garcia; William Dock Walls; and businessman Willie Wilson.

Rahm Emmanuel is going to win. Chicago politics being what it is, each political faction (White Italian, Black, Hispanic) is running it's own candidate, rather than banding together to fine one opponent strong enough to beat him.
