New terror alert for France after 'at least' five drones are spotted flying above Paris landmarks including Eiffel Tower and the US embassy

Source: Daily Mail

Paris is on alert for a new terror attack after
'at least' five drones were spotted illegally
flying around city landmarks, including the
Eiffel Tower, Bastille Square and the U.S.
embassy building.

<snip>

France has experienced a series of mysterious
drone appearances in the last few months. On
January 20, a pilotless aircraft briefly went
over the presidential palace in Paris, while
around 20 drones were earlier seen flying
above nuclear power plants.

However until Tuesday 'there have never been
so many drones appearing in one night,' the
security source said.

<snip>

The emergence of drones comes amid
warnings by terrorist groups that they will
attack the city, following January shootings
which left a total of 20 dead, including three
terrorists.

A quad-copter is NOT A DRONE unless it is autonomous. These were being flown by people.

Crusing over the White House. Over the Eiffel Tower?

Yeah. The short lived private drone era is over.

... get them taken away. And the rest of us with no malicious intent are denied. A cut and dried example of, "someone had to abuse it, so now none of us can use it". That is why regulations are put into place. And crooks want deregulation, "forgetting", there is/was a valid reason for that respective regulation in the first place.

Unidentified drones reappear over Paris during night

Paris (AFP) - Unidentified drones flew over Paris for a second night in a row, police said Wednesday in the latest mystery appearance of unmanned aircraft over major sites in France.

At least five incidents were reported over central Paris by witnesses and police, a police source told AFP.

The tiny aircraft were spotted near the US embassy, not far from the Invalides military museum, the Eiffel Tower and several major thoroughfares leading in and out of the French capital, the source added.

Police had already been trying to find out who was behind the appearance of an estimated five separate drone flights over a similar area of Paris the previous night.
