Scott Walker: Next President Shouldn't Be Bound By Obama Deal On Iran

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) argued that unless a nuclear weapons deal with Iran gets the approval of Congress, the next president shouldn't be bound by that deal.

His statement, sent out to reporters on Tuesday evening, comes as Senate Republicans face strong blowback for sending a letter to Iran's leaders to try and undermine the Obama administration's negotiations with the country on a nuclear weapons deal.

TPM reached out to Walker's political organization, Our American Revival, asking for the governor's stance on the letter.

"Republicans need to ensure that any deal President Obama reaches with Iran receives congressional review," Walker said in the statement. "Unless the White House is prepared to submit the Iran deal it negotiates for congressional approval, the next president should not be bound by it. I will continue to express that concern publicly to the President and directly to the American people." But the statement doesn't say, as TPM asked, if Walker supports the move by the Senate Republicans to send the letter or feels that it was out of bounds. Some Republicans, like Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) have expressed support for the Republicans who signed the letter.

18. Who Are The People That Composed That Statement For Walker?....

Who has taken over Walker's campaign and is telling him what to do and say? Is this the same team he has as Governor or has some super team come in that is more schooled in broader U.S. & World issues beyond the State of Wisconsin - because they are grooming him to be another Repug 'puppet' president like Dubya.

Do we elect a President - an individual that has talent to lead this nation - or are we really electing a team of advisers that leads a candidate around by his/her nose?

I know President Obama has a team - but I don't get the sense that his team says - Barack - do this or say that. My sense is that President Obama is a real leader and uses the team to make HIS decisions. I don't get the impression that he is led around by the nose and told what to say and do in every situation. He uses the team - he doesn't let the team use him.

We already saw with Jeb Bush - he is assembling a team composed of mainly familiar faces/names - that led his brother by the nose.

Again - are we electing a person to be president or are we electing a team? Who is actually leading and running this country?

Now please - I'm not so naive to think that a person can do all this by themselves to run this country. Of course they need a team. But what I'm getting at is something that seems more sinister - I saw it referred to in another post here this morning - a shadow government.

When we go into the voting booth in Nov 2016 - the names on the ballots are for a person. Seems to me we need to also be aware of that person's team - because in a sense that is what we really are electing.

If that same team is also leading other members of a particular party as well - like those in Congress or those running the states - then all we are electing is a front man/woman and we don't get to vote on the 'man behind the curtain' to use a Wizard of Oz reference.

I'm worried about that 'man behind the curtain'. Right now from where I'm sitting it looks like that 'man behind the curtain' is the same man behind the curtain of most every Repug Senator and Congressman in D.C. and every Repug Governor in the States and perhaps even every Repug man/women in state government legislatures.

It looks to be so very well organized that maybe even this 'man behind the curtain' is behind curtains in the MSM.

Maybe I'm just paranoid. Sorry!!!!

The Repuglican 'leadership' in this country is promising and promoting a very bloody, very destructive, very costly war with Iran.

This would not likely be a relatively small war inside one country, i.e., Iraq, Afghanistan -- this would be a major regional war with very possibly a worldwide reach.
