FAIRFIELD – A $5,000 reward is being offered by the Humane Society of the United States for information about the mutilated skunks found dead Tuesday -- one lashed to a utility pole -- along with a sign proclaiming "Obama Stinks."

Local animal-control officials were notified Wednesday by Annie Hornish, state director for the organization, that it is offering the reward for information about the bizarre incident involving two dead skunks at the corner of Park and Jackman avenues a day earlier.

As of Wednesday morning, however, police had no new information about their investigation into the incident.

The skunks were discovered when a woman called police around 8:40 a.m. Tuesday to report there appeared to be a dead skunk nailed to the telephone pole. When officers arrived, they found two dead skunks at the site -- one had heavy string wrapped around its neck and was nailed to the pole about 4 feet from the ground. The second skunk was lying at the base of the pole.

Good that it's being investigated and there's a reward available for information. I only hope the local authorities call in the Secret Service.

This is in one of the most liberal states in the US, having gone for Obama overwhelmingly twice and with two Democratic Senators and five of five Democratic Congressmen and Democrats in all state-wide offices.

However, it took place in Fairfield, a bastion of republican racists, who don't even like to admit that they're in the same county as the dreaded Bridgeport.

admittedly right down the street from the dreaded Bridgeport. I find this rather surprising.

Now Southport (a wealthy section of Fairfield across town near Westport). That's a bastion of republican racists.

Teddy, said he knew when he had beatin his political foe,

Yes, Obama used money to get elected, and he had to play the game, but
he is truly loved and admired on is own personal terms. That why he won with 10 GOP states,
and got 5million more votes than the GOP. He won all the big states.!! Fl Ohio etc.

I fear the GOP, has become so frustrated they are resorting to Treason, and they are corned because
they refuse to learn and evolve.

Now, American I say: Obama is trust worthy, but the GOP is not (Losers!!)

9. I went to a couple of the Governor debates four years ago....

....and the republicans had a gang of nasty people in the back rows booing, catcalling, and yelling every time Malloy said something they didn't like, and they screamed their approval whenever Foley said anything.

I never saw anything like that in the past.
