Florida Gov. Rick Scott Floats 2018 Senate Run

Source: TPM/Tampa Bay Times

Florida Gov. Rick Scott (R) is floating the possibility of running for Sen. Bill Nelson's (D-FL) seat in 2018.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, Scott told donors that he's interested in challenging Nelson when he would be up for re-election at the end of his third term.

The Times argues that a Senate run might actually make a little more sense than a presidential run for Scott, who has made a habit of approaching national topics like Obamacare. Scott just barely won his last gubernatorial elections against Democrat Alex Sink and Republican-turned-Independent-turned-Democrat former Gov. Charlie Crist.

Scott's last election wasn't without some unusual bumps, including during a debate when he refused to take the stage until Crist got rid of a small fan he had with him.

I predict an easy Dem win, unless he's running against Crist again.

Why would a private business man spend a bucket full of his own money to get himself elected to Gov and then talk about the senate..
He eventually wants to run for President and these are his steppingstones to get street cred.. God I hate this man...

Florida was not enough? Huh.

Good luck with that. Then again, we could have had Debbie whatshername Schultz screwing it up for us, but for a timely, yet semi-snarky release of her deceit and two-faced approach to politics.

If Dems don't bother turning out for midterms, any jackass with an R after his name could win in this state.
