Source: AP

CINCINNATI (AP) — Two brothers exonerated after spending decades in prison on a conviction and death sentence in a 1975 slaying will receive more than $1.6 million from the state of Ohio for wrongful imprisonment.

The Ohio Court of Claims on Friday granted the partial compensation to 60-year-old Wiley Bridgeman and 57-year-old Kwame Ajamu (KWAH' may ah-jah-MU') for their time behind bars. Attorneys for the two brothers say their compensation for lost wages is yet to be determined.

The two brothers and Ricky Jackson were convicted of aggravated murder in the slaying of a businessman in Cleveland.
