Marco Rubio Set to Announce Presidential Bid Monday

Source: washington post

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), the son of Cuban immigrants whose rapid political ascent was nearly blocked five years ago by national Republican leaders, will formally launch his campaign for president Monday evening in his hometown of Miami.

Rubio, the junior senator from Florida, will make the announcement in front of the city’s Freedom Tower, an iconic, Ellis Island-like downtown landmark where the federal government once processed Cuban immigrants fleeing the Castro regime. The site holds great personal importance for Rubio, his family and the city's influential Cuban-American community.

Allows Jeb to stay above the fray by using Rubio as the attack dog, and in return Rubio hopes to be compensated with a cabinet job.

he is far too young to step away from a senate seat for cabinet job.

He could be Jeb's wingman, but this guy has presidential aspirations.

Unless he is VP, hard to see with both being from Florida, a cabinet job takes him off track.

Jeb runs with boring old GOPer in the VP slot. Shortly after the inauguration old GOPer steps down "for health reasons" (or they could go the Spiro Agnew route and have a juicy scandal) and Jeb appoints Rubio his new VP per the 25th amendment. Yeah, it's kinda sleazy and underhanded, but remember who we're talking about

Allows him to spread his neocon vision around the world. This is why we gotta move Heaven & Earth to stop Jeb. Imagine all those rotten, criminal neocons back in their old posts.

New pony up to old GOP political tricks. I wish I was surprised.
