Israel Launches Airstrike On Syria Border, Says Militants Approached With Explosive
Source: Associated Press
JERUSALEM (AP) Israel's military said Sunday it launched an airstrike on its border with Syria after spotting militants carrying a bomb in the Israeli-held Golan Heights.
The military said it carried out the strike after troops saw "a group of armed terrorists" approach the border with an explosive intended to target Israeli troops. It said that Israeli aircraft "targeted the squad, preventing the attack."
It did not offer any casualty figure for the strike. The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said four Syrian soldiers were killed by a missile fired from Israeli-occupied territory in the Golan. Observatory director Rami Abdurrahman said it was not clear whether the missile was fired by a plane or from a vehicle.
On Twitter, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sent messages commending the soldiers involved in the strike.

(1,333 posts)happen to kill Syrian soldiers fighting the terrorists and not one strike yet against the Al Qaeda rebels fighting Syria near Israeli border. Its as if the Israelis are helping the militants attacking Syria and they are not just defending itself against attacks.
But there's no way they will do that. They are very peaceful bunch just trying to live their lives in peace instead of shit stirers trying to cause trouble for its neighbors.

They buy into "the enemy of our enemy is our friend"--and they view Iran and Hezbollah, not Al Qaeda or ISIS, as their true enemies.

(39,171 posts)their concern is that Hezbollah does not gain sophisticated weapons in exchange for their support for Syria.
There are many overlapping historic currents in play right now. Israel will intervene to a limited extent if they feel it supports their security - which makes perfect sense. But you will not see a large scale Israeli effort to significantly tip the scales one way or the other.

(1,333 posts)But if there was a time to show any mercy even just so the Syrian people are not run over by ISIS, this is that time. Hezbollah has been doing some serious work killing the terrorists in Syria. But no, Israel chooses this time to take shots at Hezbollah.
Personally, I think they should show some mercy and maybe even hit the terrorists attacking Syria from their occupied Golan height. I think it would do wonders in mending the relationship between Israel and Syria/Hezbollah. But what do I know, I am just a guy on the internet.
