Gov. Kasich: SCOTUS Legalizing Gay Marriage Would Have To Be Respected

Source: Talking Points Memo

Ohio Gov. John Kasich (R) defines marriage as between a man and a woman but said if the United States were to legalize gay marriage that ruling should be respected.

Kasich, who had previously said he'd go to a same-sex wedding, made the comment at a Christian Science Monitor event on Friday. The Ohio governor was asked about going to a same-sex wedding in his home state.

"They'll only get married if the court changes [that]. Ohio passed a constitutional amendment saying it is between a man and a woman," Kasich said. "If it's changed and my friend invites me to a wedding my big question is 'well, what time is it?' I mean it's a time to celebrate with people."

Probably not. Unless it serves his purpose.

He'll go only if a law tells him it's okay. What a courageous leader. Not.

Don't worry John....you'll NEVER get invited to one, so your panties can remain dry.

Kasich is a corporatist, Fox News commentator, all around jerk; but he's no fool. Not as crazy as most Republicans; he's positioning himself as a moderate, which he probably is in comparison to the rest of these clowns. He says he doesn't want VP if offered; which to me means he wants the presidency, but he doesn't have the hard line bonifides that he would need with this party. He is going to try to be the moderate candidate, to appeal to all. Good luck with that dude.

Glad you're here! Moderate-Schmoderate. I don't trust him. Simply because he's a republi-CON. That's really all I need to know. Besides, if he won, he'd still be bringing all kinds of GOP fiends and warmongers and other scumbags and government haters and climate change deniers and misogynists and vote-cagers and other CON jerks and 6th-Century minds into office with him.
