Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker Wouldn't Rule Out Re-Invasion of Iraq

Source: ABC News

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker says he wouldn’t rule out a full-blown re-invasion of Iraq if he were to become the next commander-in-chief.

The likely Republican presidential candidate and early frontrunner in several polls said he would consider a re-invasion if it were deemed necessary to protect American national security at home and abroad.

"It would not be limited to anything out there," Walker told ABC's Jonathan Karl in an exclusive interview with for “This Week.” "Once we start saying how far we're willing to go or how many troops we're willing to invest, we send a horrible message, particularly to foes in the Middle East who are willing to wait us out." . . .

expect any president to paint themselves into such a corner.
That aside Walker as president would be as bad if not worse than Bush imo and the rest of the clown car republicans arent much better.

At first, I questioned the idea of invading a country where we already have occupying military forces, but then I realized this fits in with the Republican notion that the president has "abandoned" Iraq and turned it over to ISIS. If Walker wants to invade something, he should start small, the Michigan Upper Peninsula.

PALETES of money dropped from planes.

Hundreds of tanks.

Thousands of armored Humvees.

Go in and build billions worth of facilities.

Kill off tens of thousands of people.

Sure! I'll bet Iraqi leadership will work it different this time, making sure they personally get their hand on some stuff.

Say, what happened to paying for Iraqi War I, with all that revenue from OIL?

or whatever iteration another boots on the ground operation there would be.

I've no clue as to what a "solution" to the convoluted multi factional civil wars in the region would look like, but another military intervention is not one I support.

What does he mean by "a full blown re-invasion" of Iraq. You invade for the purpose of conquering a country to remove the current government. We deposed of Saddam in that manner. And if this is where he stands on Iraq, where does he stand on Syria? Invade them at the same time. Will he start up the draft again in order to find the troops to fight these endless wars. Lastly, isn't "deepening" the same thing as to "bone up"? Stay tuned tomorrow for the walk-back as this interview was a disaster on all levels.

If he's willing to conscript every military-age person related to any member of a Republican club, Tea Party club or any other war-loving group, and everyone caught with a "Choose Life" license plate or "If you can't stand behind our troops, feel free to stand in front of them" bumper sticker...naah, even if he was perfectly willing to stick everyone who loves war into the ranks and ship them to the box right now, I wouldn't support this.

OTOH, I WOULD support sending some container ships and airliners to the Middle East to evacuate any US civilians who want to get the hell out.
