Residents hole up as search for escapees narrows; 'This could be it'

Source: Plattsburgh Press-Republican

CADYVILLE — An intense search for the escaped killers is underway in Cadyville, with residents locked in their homes and Saranac Central School shut down for the day.

Police reportedly found evidence that Richard Matt, 48, and David Sweat, 34, were bedded down near Kennedy and Bart Merrill roads.

New York State Police closed a section of Route 374 overnight. The road remains shut down east of the Village of Dannemora between Gen. Leroy Manor Road and Rand Hill Road in West Plattsburgh as police track down the prisoners, who escaped Saturday from Clinton Correctional Facility.

Nope, Plan A sold out fast, and Plan B is on backorder.
