Shooting suspect Dylann Roof confesses to attack, according to reports

Source: The Guardian

The suspect in the mass shooting of nine church leaders at Bible study in one of America’s oldest black congregations has confessed to carrying out the attack, according to media reports.

CNN is reporting that it has been told by two law enforcement officials that Dylann Roof has told authorities that he was the shooter. NBC reported the same. The Guardian cannot confirm this.

According to the CNN account, the 21-year-old resident of Columbia, South Carolina, said that his motive had been that he wanted to start a race war.

Roof is being held at the Al Cannon detention center in North Charleston.

4. They are dancing around using "black church" as much as they can

I've seen several clips where they are not mentioning anything race related. They had whackadoodle preacher EW Jackson on who said guns in church would help. They interviewed the woman who called in Roof's car, it was all about how God put her in the right place and told her to call (actually she asked her boss and HE called the cops).

and then door number two, then somehow this is going to end up the victims fault they were murdered, maybe just because they were black and enraged this white victim of some kind of cultural "mental illness". He saw the confederate flag flying over the state capital and just got pissed, "those people were taking over and they had to go"?

If he pleads guilty, at least we won't have to spend money on a trial.

The country needs to see what created a monster such as him. I bet he was raised a rush baby listening to hate radio from a young age and a steady diet of Fox News.

And throw in some accessory charges to his father for buying him a handgun if he knew he had a drug problem.

Charles Manson must be feeling proud -- he had been trying to start a race war, too.

14. Officials: Suspect in church slayings unrepentent amid outcry over racial hatred
Fri Jun 19, 2015, 12:38 PM
Jun 2015

CHARLESTON, S.C. — The gunman charged with killing nine people in an African American church was unrepentant and unashamed during a confession to police, espousing strong anti-black views for the officers who questioned him, law enforcement officials said Friday.

Dylann Storm Roof not only confessed to causing the Wednesday night carnage in Charleston, but said he wanted his actions known, said the officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation is unfolding.

Roof’s words added to an emerging portrait that suggests the 21-year-old was driven by runaway racial hatred in the attacks — unleashed after Roof spent nearly an hour quietly watching a Bible study group before opening fire, authorities claim.
