Fox dumps Sarah Palin
Source: Politico
Fox News will not renew its contract with Sarah Palin, whose bombastic appearances have been a cable staple since the former Alaska governors failed run on John McCains ticket in the 2008 presidential election cycle. When asked for comment, a Fox News spokesperson confirmed the network had amicably parted ways with the governor on June 1.
Palin, 51, is expected to make occasional guest appearances on Fox and Fox Business, and will appear on other networks and cables. She has a show on the Sportsman Channel, does a lot of speeches, and will announce a new publishing project soon.
When Palin was at her zenith, she made frequent appearances, and Fox installed a camera at her house. But executives consider her less relevant now, and her appearances were sometimes hampered by the vast time difference with Alaska. She remains a huge conservative force on Facebook, with 4.5 million fans twice that of Rand Paul, who has the biggest reach in the 2016 field. She also has 1.15 million Twitter followers.
Palins Facebook page got a new look at midnight, including a new cover photo with a quote from her announcement speech in Dayton, Ohio: I didnt get into government to do the safe and easy things. A ship in harbor is safe but thats not why the ship is built.

(28,017 posts)Watching a spectacle is fascinating, like watching a train on bridge as it begins to collapse. Or seeing a semi hurtling at you, out of control spinning on the icy road. It is simply human nature to watch insanity combined with inanity with such great sync. It rarely happens on the national stooge.

(24,007 posts)...some of the stultifyingly inane things people were "tweeting" about, I remember thinking that it was very well named because it seemed that mostly twits went on Twitter. Not exclusively, of course, but talk about banal and dull - sheesh.

(22,651 posts)guess they kept her on contract these past couple years for republican-foxes short anti-American confederate flag waving segments.
Now that fox has thousands of dumbass people in their young 20s acting out the republican fox-hate, they don't need Sarahs poison anymore.

(66,394 posts)No, you got out of government to do the safe and easy things.
You couldn't hack the governorship of the second-least populated state in the nation; one with a reputation of being a haven for anti-government types. How tough could it have been?

(6,409 posts)The ship was not built to sit there in the harbor. You need to take that baby out to sea, get it up to full steam, and smash it into the rocks. Then demand the federal government rescue the crew and repair the ship, because they put those rocks there.
