Texas grand jury declines to indict veterinarian who killed cat with arrow

Source: Dallas Morning News

BELLVILLE, Texas — A Texas grand jury has declined to indict a veterinarian who bragged on social media about killing a cat with an arrow.

The Austin County district attorney’s office said in a statement Wednesday there was insufficient proof to indict Dr. Kristen Lindsey for animal cruelty.

The statement says investigators received an unconfirmed report that Lindsey may have believed the cat was rabid and shot it to protect her animals.

A picture on Facebook that was later removed showed her holding the cat by the arrow shaft.

Since cats have no economic value I don't believe that there would be any amount of compensation rewarded even for mental anguish or loss of affection. My opinion though since I'm not an attorney.

The whole things reeks. Keep your pets close by if you live in the area, cuz if some psycho decides to kill your pet, you'll get no justice.

Since there won't be any criminal charges it is unlikely that her license will be revoked so she will have the authorization to treat animals as a vet. Considering that her family raises horses she will still be around animals in the future.

I will never spend a cent at any veterinary clinic that she is employed by or owns, or do business with any entity that she benefits from.

I live in Texas. I am part of a rescue group, and we spend thousands of dollars each year in veterinary care.

I know this isn't much justice for Tiger (i.e., me not ever doing business with her), but I sure hope that every, single Texas animal lover feels exactly the same way.

The prosecutor must have presented NOTHING. Why, when she and her mother obliged with so many nice photos?

I served on a Texas grand jury for six months, and we had to determine (1) Was there a crime committed? (2) Was it reasonable to suppose (not proof beyond a shadow of a doubt) that the defendant committed the crime? And only the prosecutor presents evidence.

So let's see…was a crime committed? Cat with arrow through head. Yep, looks like a crime to me. Defendant waving cat and arrow about and bragging how she did it. Reasonable to connect her with the crime.

WHAT HAPPENED? I know, nobody can say because you're not supposed to talk about it.

But out of hundreds of thousands of cases put before grand juries, I think only 11 last year (or year before) avoided indictment. WHY HER?

No justice, none at all.

When they don't get an indictment, it's because they acted as defense attorneys in front of the grand jury and steer them to a decision to not indict.

Has the bitch been doxed yet?

The grand jury can ask for more evidence and ask questions, but if you don't even know what to ask, it's hard to pull questions out of thin air. And jurors (like me) who want to spend more time on a case aren't very popular.

If she suspected the cat was rabid could she not have tranquilized it and then examined the cat? Sure that causes some harm, but not death. In the event the cat was not rabid it could have been released. The story sounds fishy.

Satan chews hard.

Satan is waist deep in ice, weeping tears from his six eyes, and beating his six wings as if trying to escape, although the icy wind that emanates only further ensures his imprisonment (as well as that of the others in the ring). Each face has a mouth that chews on a prominent traitor. Brutus and Cassius are feet-first in the left and right mouths respectively, for their involvement in the assassination of Julius Caesar – an act which, to Dante, represented the destruction of a unified Italy and the killing of the man who was divinely appointed to govern the world.[62] In the central, most vicious mouth is Judas Iscariot, the namesake of Round 4 and the betrayer of Jesus. Judas is receiving the most horrifying torture of the three traitors: his head gnawed by Satan's mouth, and his back being forever skinned by Satan's claws. What is seen here is an inverted trinity: Satan is impotent, ignorant, and full of hate, in contrast to the all-powerful, all-knowing, and loving nature of God.[62]

that gets funnier every time I see it, LOL.

even funnier that she mentions that he is feral and not rabid.

even if he was rabid, which I'm sure that he was not,
that disgusting grinning picture is beyond belief....
I hope that none of her facebook friends are CHILDREN!

If you are worried about a feral cat, trap it and use your
"vet of the year" skills to neuter it.
