Rand Paul: Obamacare Decision Turns 'The Rule Of Law... On Its Head'

Source: TPM

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), a 2016 Republican presidential candidate, said Thursday that the Supreme Court's decision on Obamacare was effectively turning "both the rule of law and common sense on its head."

Paul's statement said President Obama's health care program "is the wrong fix" for America.

“This decision turns both the rule of law and common sense on its head," Paul reportedly said. "Obamacare raises taxes, harms patients and doctors, and is the wrong fix for America’s health care system."

Paul also discussed what he would do differently as President and noted his perspective as a doctor.

Every time Rand Paul opens his mouth, I have two thoughts: (1) he is not as smart as his dad, and (2) he is even crazier than I suspected.

Oh happy day since now millions of people won't lose insurance and blame it on R's. This is the personal, hidden, but very true reactions.

"propose real solutions"

but as always, no such solution actually detailed. "I'll do something better" without explaining what it is (or how it will be paid for) is not a viable alternative, but it's a very popular Republican position.

bill completely out-of-context would turn the rule of law, particularly with regards to statutory interpretation, on its head. This nonsense lawsuit had no business even being heard by the Supreme Court. Aside from the laughable grounds of the challenge, it's not clear that any of the plaintiffs were actually in position to be injured by the ACA's subsidies.

It's amazing how these people get away with talking complete and utter nonsense without ever being challenged by the so-called news media.

It is to go back to the system Obamacare replaced, with two changes: all health insurance will be sold from the heart of coal country where the prices are outrageous, and malpractice suits will be eliminated with the institution of "loser pays" - the wonderful tort system they have in England that requires the loser in any civil suit to pay the legal costs of both sides.
