Police Respond to Shots Fired Near Civic Center UN Plaza During Pride Festivities

San Francisco police responded Saturday evening to a shooting in the area of United Nations Plaza just as local Pride celebrations were winding down.
Police said two people were taken into custody. One victim was transported to a hospital with a gunshot wound, police said.
Police said they were called to McAllister and Leavenworth streets on a report of shots fired just after 6 p.m., when the event was scheduled to end.

(1,245 posts)That particular intersection is just on the edge of the Tenderloin district, which is ... uhh ... NOT a real nice nor safe part of town. It's shady as hell there, frankly.
I'm inclined to take a wait & see til we get some more news before we lose our collective shit.
That said, if it IS a hate crime though, then I absolutely vote for losing our shit.
