Jesse Ventura tells Alex Jones he might run for president: ‘I want more than two choices’
Source: RawStory
Former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura told conspiracy theorist Alex Jones this week that he was considering running for president with help from the Libertarian Party but wouldnt be joining the Libertarian Party if he did.
The libertarians have put out a gesture to me to come to their convention and that I would have a very good chance of getting their nomination for president, Ventura explained. But one thing will have to be clear on: I do not want to join them as a party.
He said he wanted to be the first president since George Washington who didnt belong to a political party. I need that from them, that they wont require me to be in their party to receive their nomination, because thats firepower I think you can win the election with. That simple thing.
Look at the last national election, 64 percent of the people failed to turn out to vote, he added. Well, those are all my potential customers. Those are my potential voters. If I can rejuvenate them to come back and watch their vote count, you win.

"And guess what Dick, this former frogman is looking at you, you chickenhawk, and I'm telling you waterboarding is torture, Dick. I was a competitive swimmer, Dick. I know how to swim, I'm used to the water, I'm a frogman, Dick. I've been in the water probably longer in 3 weeks then the amount of time you have showered in your life, Dick. What the hell would you know about the definition of torture, Dick Cheney? You're a guy who when it was your time to go in the front and show what you had, to stand up for your country, you ran and hid. And now you come back, the chickenhawk you are, and you're gonna define what torture is? You are gonna tell us, who were in the military, guys who went to SERE school, guys who unfortunately became POWs, Dick Cheney you're gonna define torture? That's bull***t Dick Cheney, just like you, you're bull***t."
I wouldn't vote for him, but gotta like the quotes.

(26,623 posts)Jesse is libertarian's clown. The thing about Jesse, he's crazy but I love him. Never as president, but just as a loud voice who often says what I want to hear.

(7,412 posts)1-2% away from the Democrat here in Florida. Crist and Scott were tied when polling head to head, add the Libertarian into the polling and Scott was leading by 1-2% in polling and then actually had that as a margin of victory in the election.
I attribute it to their pro drug legalization platform.

(39,961 posts)is smart enough to point out the fact that the vast majority of Americans don't want another Clinton vs. Bush selection in the voting booth, you know that people are fed up. About the only thing that Democrats and Republicans can agree on is that we don't want another Clinton vs. Bush selection.

(2,382 posts)... you're just having a hissy fit because you miss the attention. LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME! Get over yourself.
I can't think of anything worse than Alex Jones being given an even wider platform to spew his OTT BS... which is exactly what this will do.
And Ventura? I don't trust him much either.
