DEA intercepting all internet traffic in Colombia: Hacked email
Posted by Emma Rosser on Jul 8, 2015

The United States’ Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) has been intercepting all of Colombia’s internet traffic, according to an email released on Monday.

The email revealed the use of interception tools “that will receive all the traffic for Colombian ISPs” signalling the intercepting of literally the entire country’s internet traffic.

If true, this means that Colombian internet traffic is not just being intercepted by the National Security Agency (NSA), but also by the DEA, allegedly from inside the US Embassy office in Bogota.

Colombia NSA’s 3rd most spied on country in Latin America

The email was published by journalist Ryan Gallagher of Intercept, the news website run by US journalist Glenn Greenwald who previously helped make the NSA’s global spying practices public.

Colombia is the largest recipient of US military and foreign aid gifts from US taxpayers in the Western Hemisphere, and 3rd largest in the world, frequently.

After Plan Colombia was initiated in 2000, the US has given the Colombian right-wing government over $9 billion of hard-earned taxpayers' dollars. Before that the Colombian officials were well-financed, as well. They are entirely accustomed to spending money coughed up by hard-working US Americans who don't have tax havens and loopholes.

The Colombian government will do exactly what its corrupt politicians want it to do.

Maybe they were not told by the Colombian Gov. that the USA paid billions to snoop in their citizens mail.
