Sanders Statement on Iran Nuclear Agreement
Tuesday, July 14, 2015

WASHINGTON, July 14 – Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) today issued the following statement after President Barack Obama announced a nuclear agreement with Iran:

“I congratulate President Obama, Secretary Kerry and the leaders of other major nations for producing a comprehensive agreement to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon. This is a victory for diplomacy over saber-rattling and could keep the United States from being drawn into another never-ending war in the Middle East. I look forward to learning more about the complex details of this agreement to make sure that it is effective and strong.”

They want to paint this agreement as bad (poor MIC doesn't get it's longed for MAJOR war) so want to put it squarely on Obama. After all, they think most of their base just doesn't trust the black man. They can't say international coalition, because that might make it sound actually legitimate and that doesn't fit their desired narrative of "all war, all the time".

Israel. A real boost for diplomacy. I hope it brings us closer to peace for the ME and some kind of prosperity for the Iranian people. I lived, worked with, and went to school with Iranians over the years since 1960. I have found all of them to be extremely intelligent, tolerant, and spiritual and compassionate people. I can only speak for the ones I have met...but then what else can one go by?
