Mike Huckabee’s haul: $2 million

Source: Politico

Mike Huckabee’s presidential campaign has raised $2 million and pro-Huckabee super PACs have raised an additional $6 million, a senior Huckabee advisor confirmed to POLITICO.

When Huckabee ran for the 2008 Republican presidential nomination, he raised just $544,000 in the first quarter of his campaign.

Huckabee’s combined $8 million campaign and super PAC haul puts him at the bottom of the pile of Republican candidates whose fundraising totals have come out ahead of Wednesday’s Federal Election Commission reporting deadline for campaign committees. Jeb Bush’s campaign and super PAC have raised a combined $119 million, and Ted Cruz’s campaign and super PACs have raised $51 million. Rubio and groups supporting him have raised $45 million.

7. Who cares about the office, let's just get some campaign $$$$

IMO that's what more than half of the GOPer field is in it for, that and the publicity. Plus there always seems to be a gig waiting for one or two of them on Faux.

should not exceed the median wage in the country. Instead of what it currently stand at, not to exceed the salary of the office you are running for.

3. The substantial increase in money raised by Huckabee is not a reflection of increased popularity.

It's a reflection of how Citizens United has put our political whoring for money on steroids.

The Huckster paid his relatives over $400,000 in wages from his last run. Most of these shysters would croak if they actually got close to being the candidate. Who wants THAT job, with all the headaches? Throwing bombs at the sitting President is so much fun, and they rake in enough $$$ to live on for years, plus their relatives profit, too. Imagine if they had to put any unused cash back into the RNC coffers, most of them would not run. Gingrich must have finally run out of ideas for new books to sell, otherwise he would be running. Maybe he is presently pursuing wife #4?
