Florida’s Rubio: He’s experienced on 21st century issues

AMES, Iowa (AP) The latest on the Republican presidential contenders wooing social conservatives at the annual Family Leadership Summit, an event thats expected to attract thousands of potential Iowa caucus-goers. All times are local.

Florida Sen. Marco Rubio is aggressively refuting the notion that he lacks experience compared with others in the Republican presidential field.
The 44-year-old freshman senator argues that he best understands the challenges Americans face today. He says he understands having to live paycheck to paycheck and notes that until recently he had student loans payments.
Rubio admits some of the candidates have more experience on the issues we faced 18 years ago, but no one running has more experience on the issues we face right now, today, in the 21st century.
Rubio was the first presidential candidate to address the daylong event. Nine more Republican prospects are scheduled to take the stage.

I hate that C-Span and other media give them the publicity of broadcasting their talk, when they're really just rah-rah and money-raising ventures.
OTOH , I really enjoyed C-Span's broadcast of the Democratic Presidential candidates from Iowa last evening.
They were all articulate and offered interesting perspectives.
I did disagree with Jim Webb's non-endorsement of the Iran treaty agreement, though.
Edited for spelling.

(15,882 posts)families mired in poverty in a nation that cares more about a lower deficit than providing opportunity, and millions of whole families foreclosed on while they watch bank$ter/donors get rich on their labor.
Add in the people trying to come across the border to have a chance at living and the guy trying to revive the Fugitive Slave Act to terrorize them, and I suspect there are tens of millions of my neighbors who know a damn site more about 21st century "issues" than Ruby do.
We need someone with solutions. Bernie comes to mind.
