Indiana Clears Planned Parenthood in Fetal Tissue Investigation
Source: Newsweek
The state of Indiana on Thursday cleared Planned Parenthood of wrongdoing in the handling of fetal tissue.
A July 16 investigation ordered by Indiana Governor Mike Pence found no evidence of any laws being broken and no evidence that Planned Parenthood facilities in Indianapolis, Bloomington and Merrillville had sold tissue from aborted fetuses, the Associated Press reported.
At least 12 other states have launched investigations into Planned Parenthood after videos surfaced earlier this month in which Planned Parenthood executives appeared to suggest that the organization was selling the tissues of aborted fetuses. Legislators in other states have also called for investigations.

(9,148 posts)The vote to defund & a possible Cruz govt shut down is looming of course, but will this "lack of proof" have any power to sway? I am hoping it gives enough doubt that a few will vote to just leave the PP funding in place.
Have no clue how they'll reign in Cruz & his band of 18.

(9,148 posts)..within days of completing the videos.
The desperation of the RW to keep their voting base, and collect their pay from the Koch, KKKRightWing, Alec, & Rovian employers is driving this sick behavior.
They hate women.

(26,549 posts)They appear to have broken a couple California laws, and the CA AG is investigating. But I'm not aware of a federal law they broke.

The videos were edited...
From CNN--
Following a similar format to the previous three clips, the edited video shows actors posing as researchers speaking with the Dr. Savita Ginde, who was at least at one time medical director of a Planned Parenthood branch in Denver.
Like the previous videos, this one also came from the Center for Medical Progress, an anti-abortion group accusing Planned Parenthood of breaking the law by selling aborted fetal tissue.

They lied. And Congress attempted to use the lie as a reason to go after Planned Parenthood.
Now it's time to hold them accountable.

(26,549 posts)So it doesn't look like tampering to me.
Again, they broke CA law, but that is not enforced by the DoJ. And Planned Parenthood could probably successfully sue for defamation due to the video editing. Which again, isn't the DoJ.
Holding them accountable means pushing the right people to hold them accountable, not turning to the DoJ for everything and then being disappointed when the DoJ can't act due to no federal law being broken.

(21,925 posts)Fox has withdrawn that story. In breaking News, Hoax News reports now that Planned Parenthood was sending fetal tissue and parts to Obama for his daily lunch at the White House. More at the top of the hour.

(449 posts)to comply with state laws. So of course Indiana found absolutely nothing wrong, because Planned Parenthood's operations there are fully legal and compliant. The laws regarding tissue donation vary state-by-state, so conservative politicians are feigning outrage when in reality, all this "gotcha" video crap represents totally legal operations.
