UPDATED: Donald Trump cited as potential influence in brutal attack on homeless Hispanic man

Source: Salon/The Boston Globe

Two Boston men have been charged with assault after attacking a sleeping homeless Hispanic man and telling police that “Donald Trump was right, all these illegals need to be deported.”

The Boston Globe reports that brothers, Scott and Steve Leader of South Boston, cited the leading the Republican presidential candidate after they were arrested and charged on multiple assault charges, indecent exposure, and malicious destruction of property:

The Leader brothers were heading home after a Red Sox game when they approached a 58-year-old homeless man who was in a sleeping bag near the JFK/UMass T station. The brothers allegedly urinated on the man, punched him multiple times, and struck him with a metal pole.

(…)

The victim suffered a broken nose and bruises to his head and torso was taken to Boston Medical Center.

According to the police report filed in court, “Scott also stated Donald Trump was right, all these illegals need to be deported” and complained that he was only being arrested “because white people always are and never the minorities.”

UPDATE:

Two South Boston men pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges that they urinated on and beat a sleeping homeless man.

Scott J. Leader, 38, and Steve M. Leader, 30, brothers who live at the same address in South Boston, were held without bail after their arraignment in Dorchester Municipal Court on multiple assault charges, indecent exposure, and threatening to commit a crime.

In a police report filed in court, officers said that Scott Leader said it was OK to assault the victim because the victim was Hispanic and homeless.

“Scott also stated Donald Trump was right, all these illegals need to be deported,” the report said. “Scott also said he was arrest[ed] because white people always are and never the minorities.”

Steve Leader is also charged with malicious destruction of property over $250 after he punched and kicked a cell door at the State Police barracks, State Police said in a statement.

Scott Leader was convicted of a hate crime and imprisoned for one year after attacking a Moroccan man four days after the terror attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, according to court records. Leader threw a cup at the man working at the Southampton Street Dunkin’ Donuts, calling him “terrorist” and several ethnic slurs, the Globe has reported.

Following his release from prison, then-Attorney General Thomas Reilly sought a civil rights restraining order against Leader in Suffolk Superior Court, the Globe reported.

My s-i-l's German cousin was very interested in learning English curses when she visited the U.S. I was her tutor.

Referring back to the post I replied to "pinche" is "f#king"; you may be familiar with"pendejo" or idiot, dumbass, etc.--much more pejorative than the similar "idiota"; and "pendejasso" is like a mega- or ultimate-pendejo.

They said, "Trump was right.". That does not mean they are putting the responsibility on him, or that they would have acted differently if he didn't exist. Southie isn't known for its tolerance.

It is Salon that claims (to sell copy I suppose) that Trump "may have influenced" them.

Trump is a clown, but unless he says "use violence to end illegal immigration" he is entitled to proclaim his views. Thats protected speech, something I am glad we have.

And these guys should get 20 years in prison - they are 100 percent responsible for their own actions.

And note that they made it to the jail unscathed - not tased, beaten unconscious, or killed by the cops despite their kicking doors and "acting highly aggressive and combative" per the Globe.
