LePage won’t name board members, vows to bypass Legislature through citizen initiatives

Source: Bangor Daily News

AUGUSTA, Maine — Gov. Paul LePage says he has decided not to nominate any candidates to fill dozens of empty positions on state boards and commissions that issue licenses, resolve disputes and approve agreements.

In making his decision, LePage cited tensions between the Legislature and the executive branch, and said he won’t even consider naming possible replacements until January at the very earliest.

Toward the end of the last session of the Legislature, LePage withdrew dozens of nominations from consideration by the Legislature, blasting the legislative branch for failing to act on his tax reform proposals.

At the time, he talked about resubmitting nominations this fall, but has told MPBN News that he has changed his mind in the wake of bruising political battles with the Legislature.

just like a little dictatorship up there in Maine, the legislature is being run by the voters and the governor /dictator is suppose to follow the wishes of the voters wishes by putting people lets say in the Department of Education---------------which he fired the last guy from-----------------I smell impeachment coming.
And this folks is what happens when you have a neo-facists "republican" "tea party hypocrite" running a government entity------------------it's right there in front of your eyes and this is what you get.
Lepage is basically going around and saying we don't need a functional stinky government--------------I am the government

Honk---------------------for a political revolution Bernie 2016

The right wingers have gone from arguing for their beliefs to just telling the country 'this is the way it is'.

What are you thinking? You can't close your eyes and cover your ears hoping cancer will go away, you have to DO something about it. And you'd better do something about this asshole, LePage, before you have a failed, bankrupt state on your hands. He is 43 different kinds of evil.

By interfering with due process on such a grand scale he may be denying services in the same ways that Kim Davis was/is.

I'll bet that the voters of Maine are glad they re-elected THAT Mussolini wannabe. What a despicable, vile piece of work.

If someone suffers injury for failure to issue (or renew) a license from one of these commissions, do they then have cause to petition the court for such a writ ? Would it be the state SC ?
