Bundle of marijuana worth $10,000 falls from the sky and crushes dog house

Police: 26lb-package likely dropped from smuggler’s aircraft or drone
Arizona couple who handed drugs in must rehouse German Shepherd, Hulk

Associated Press in Nogales,
Sunday 27 September 2015 17.01 EDT

Maya Donnelly awoke to what sounded like thunder in the early morning hours, but dismissed it as a typical monsoon storm and went back to sleep. Later that morning, she looked in the carport at her home in Nogales, near the US-Mexico border, and saw pieces of wood on the ground.

She found a bulky bundle wrapped in black plastic. Inside was roughly 26lbs of marijuana – a package that authorities say was worth $10,000 and was likely dropped there accidentally by a drug smuggler’s aircraft.

Police are now trying to determine whether the bundle was transported by an aircraft or a pilotless drone. Such runs usually occur at night.

“It’s all right on top of our dog’s house,” Donnelly said of the incident, which occurred on 8 September and was first reported by the Nogales International newspaper. “It just made a perfectly round hole through our carport.”

At $100 per quarter, it would come to $166,400 dollars.

That's $400 per ounce, $6400 per pound.

To arrive at $10,000, I would have to calculate it at $6/quarter ounce.

My local dispensaries have dropped their sky high prices on many strains compared to last year this time. That's what competition does.

That bundle contained 23.8 pounds of marijuana, worth an estimated $9,500, that had passed cleanly through the carport roof’s several wooden layers and pulverized Hulk’s home, which he fortunately was not fond of.

“Thank goodness (Hulk) is a wanderer at night and was not in his house,” Maya said, adding: “He was probably at the gate watching the plane go by.”

I'm thinking this may have been an inside job.

They should check their internet router logs. See if the dog has been arranging this.

Have to fix the hole for the dog, and at those prices that's barely gonna cover a few sheets of plastic.

Also pain and suffering.
