(22,651 posts)The strikes went on for 30 minuets.
A major screw up by whoever was in charge of that specific attack our General called a "Mistake". They have GPS, they call in strikes by GPS loc- they know exactly where that Ds without borders field hospital is.
Unlike Russia, who have made several attacks right on manyDoctors without Borders field clinics, we shouldn't make 'mistakes' like that.
Sure we're paying Doctors without Borders $$ and paying money for the people killed, that is not enough.

He should be prosecuted for war crimes.

In general terms, a war crime may be committed when there is an attack on a civilian population during an armed conflict, Kay says.
There is an extensive body of law that regulates military action during conflict.
The aim, says Dworkin, is to draw a balance between what armed forces are justified to do out of military necessity -- which includes causing collateral damage to civilians -- and the principles of humanity.
"Hospitals enjoy a special protected status under international humanitarian law. So, to attack a hospital or medical facility, whether it is a civilian or military installation, is a crime," says Kay.
Between trumpeting the "firsts" of the TPP and detracting from US war crimes, you've been very busy today.

(22,651 posts)I read their press releases and they're one of the charities I've supported for many years. Sure its a war crime, I don't believe the Military Leader in charge who said "sorry, was a 'mistake'"
Even if it was some kind of dumb mistake because he is new in that position, it was an unforgivable mistake. He should lose his command immediately and put in someone else in who can do a better job.

"I'm sorry to hear that"...
Definitely a war crime and cover-up, plus an "information operation" here in the USA.

(85,373 posts)You see, Doctors Without Borders was dissing the TPP, TTiP, and other corporate giveaways that would ensure people could not afford medicine. So, they had to be taught a lesson. Plus, they were making US war policy look bad, sitting there patching up our victims...
