Singer for Eagles of Death Metal escapes Paris attack

PARIS (KABC) --
Jesse Hughes, the front-man for the band, was on stage when the gunmen entered the concert through multiple doors, a relative told KESQ.

The relative said Hughes was able to escape out a backstage door.

KESQ reports Hughes is safe and at a Paris police station, but other members of his band remain missing.


Josh Homme, a drummer for the Eagles of Death Metal and singer of Queens of the Stone Age, was not touring with the Eagles of Death Metal at the time of the attack

A source close to the Eagles of Death Metal, the rock band scheduled to play at the Bataclan concert venue in Paris, tells PEOPLE that most band members made it to safety after terrorists entered the venue and reportedly killed 70 to 100 people.

But the source claims that some members of the band remain unaccounted for, and that some might not have survived.

The source claims it is possible guitarist Dave Catching is still missing.

Hughes’ mother has reported via Facebook that her son is safe. The mother of drummer Julian Dorio tells The Washington Post he is currently in a police station, and uninjured.

One band member is dead and another 100 were killed after a Paris venue became the scene of a deadly hostage situation, NBC News reported.

The Eagles of Death Metal were supposed to perform at the Bataclan, a theater located in eastern Paris near the trendy Oberkampf area. People inside were taken hostage.

The guitarist in the band is Dave Catching, owner of Rancho de la Luna recording studio in Joshua Tree, who is also on tour with the group. He has not responded to Desert Sun social media requests for comment.

after Rachel came on - can't take anymore. But in all this I did not see that the terrorists had been caught - they kept talking as if they are still in that concert hall. Am I correct about that or did I fail to see what was going on. Are they still holding the hostages?

People trapped inside tweeted that they were killing them one by one, so begged the police to just do it.

When the police closed in on them 2 or 3 detonated suicide belts. The last was shot and killed. The numbers dead in flux, but something over a hundred, and many more wounded.
