In Response To Paris, Ted Cruz Calls For Airstrikes With More ‘Tolerance For Civilian Casualties’

Source: Think Progress

It has been only hours since terrorist attacks left at least 120 people dead throughout Paris. Little is known about the attackers, their methods or their motivations.

But Ted Cruz already knows the solution: A bombing campaign that’s not afraid to kill innocent civilians.

We must immediately recognize that our enemy is not ‘violent extremism.’ It is the radical Islamism that has declared jihad against the west. It will not be appeased by outreach or declarations of tolerance. It will not be deterred by targeted airstrikes with zero tolerance for civilian casualties, when the terrorists have such utter disregard for innocent life.

Cruz did not specify where these airstrikes should take place or what they should be targeting.

So the brilliant solution Canuck Cruz comes up with for innocent civilians getting killed in Paris is to thump his chest and advocate killing innocent civilians in the mideast.

Yeah, that will totally make them not hate us, Ted.

Your conservative intellectual, folks!

that cuts through the BS. Someone that says what needs to be said without equivocation. Someone that is glad to offend those they want to offend. It's Trump's appeal too.
Ass kicking, take no prisoners kind of people. Most of them feel like they have been marginalized for too many years. The issues we care about, the ones that we see as asserting our freedom and our liberty, they see as robbing them of theirs. They see it as the destruction of the country and the family, and the gateway of communist totalitarianism. Thus applies to abortion, marriage equality, immigration reform, all of it.
So when someone like Trump or Cruz comes along as says "we're not going to take that crap. We're going to stop it in its tracks", they respond to it. They see it as their generating reasserting itself.
I go back and forth between DU and free republic just to get all kinds of opinions.

Hatred, greed, fear, racism drives them all. They have no intention of sharing the world with people who have different beliefs, different complexions, different faiths, different outlooks. Narrow minded, hostile, suspicious people.

He knows how they work, and does his best to hit on all these issues to get their attention. Nasty, sneaky, dishonest guy. A typical right-winger.

like a politician saying "I don't care about civilian deaths, I want more of Those People killed". He wants to make it look like a holy war, and there are Islamists who would move from support to taking part in violence as a result.

Of course, it would be a waste of effort to explain

counterproductive, never mind morally bankrupt.

Cruz might want to start with the government heads of some erstwhile allies, the heads of some wealthy individuals and those of some international bankers. They are the head of the serpent. Cruz wants to keep stepping on the tail and thinks doing nothing but that will keep us from getting bit. This guy is absolutely not ready for prime time.

This is vile putrid slime bubbling beneath surface always that festers long and low until an event like the attacks in Paris happen. Then they spring up like a sore pus-filled zit at the border between your facial skin and the fleshy part of your lip. It shows up tender, swollen, and we just know that taking the pin to it with a firm squeeze will bring all the relief we hoped for. The problem is the relief is only temporary, it comes with it's own self inflicted sort of pain, it damages and scars the surrounding skin, and does nothing to get at the root cause of the problem. Let's not violently release the pressure and pain inducing pus that are (Republican intellectual)Ted Cruz's ideas.

Let's not even consider the idea that a greater acceptance of the casualties of the innocent will in any way help to stem tide of discontent at the west rising in the middle east. Lets take that horseshit right off the table. I can't even think of a more wrongheaded idea than what Cruz is now publicly, opportunistically calling for here. ‪#‎blowback‬

Nice to see Cruz following the ISIS playbook and providing the exact response that the terror group was hoping to receive. Cruz's message will be part of ISIS's propaganda by week's end I suspect, except the propaganda's intended audience (not just in the ME, but in western countries too) won't be aware of what a crazy loon Cruz is and how his views does not represent the majority of Americans (but all they will know is that a US senator openly advocated killing Muslim civilians, which adds support to ISIS's twisted narrative).

And we wonder why we're losing the war on terror!
