Paris attacks: Man arrested in Germany for smuggling firearms and explosives linked to French attack

Source: IBTimes

A man arrested with a cache of weapons including explosives, hand grenades and machine guns in Germany last week has been linked with the Paris attacks by local media. Several kilograms of TNT were found along with pistols, revolvers and ammunition were discovered, according to public broadcaster Bayrischer Rundfunk.

Police found weapons and explosives concealed in a "professional" hiding place inside the 51-year-old's Volkswagen Golf when they arrested him near the Austrian border, the station reported. Documents seized at the time of his arrest provided "substantial evidence" that the man was making his way to Paris, they said.

Bavarian state police spokesman Ludwig Waldinger confirmed to the Associated Press that firearms, explosives and hand grenades had been found. But a police spokesman told the IBTimes that they "would not provide any more information."

These weapons were destined for at least a second cell, which may or may not be currently weaponised.

The focus of the investigation in Belgium and France is going to be to find the one who made the explosivewear.

They may already have caught them.

Contrary to popular belief, the rest of the world produces many weapons and the fall of the Soviet Union sent many into the black market. The AK-47 was produced and funneled into war zones by 20 countries, with China producing the major share.

All weapons confiscated after attacks, we could get to the root of a problem. I think the same should be done here for every weapon used in mass shootings.

Yes, Bush/Cheney's STUPID incursion into Iraq led to the power vacuum which in turn led to ISIS. BUT, that does not excuse those horrid criminals from their brutal acts of terror. ISIS must be CRUSHED, and we must LEARN from the Bush/Cheney debacle. Most of all, we have to help the Middle East help ITSELF. THEY have to deal with their problems more than anyone else.

A metal show instead of the opera or symphony. Which he likely was full of European elite? A metal show or the opera, when I first heard they attacked a performance venue, metal heads and soccer fans were not at the top of my list.

It is "a story" and something to consider, but no. It is not "the real story" except for USA centric thinking.
