Train in eastern France derails during test-run, killing at least 5 and injuring 7

A high-speed train on a test-run derailed Saturday in eastern France, one day after the country was traumatized by coordinated terror attacks in Paris.

The wreck on the new Paris-Strasbourg line near the German border killed at least five people and injured seven, according to the Mirror.

The paper reported there is no apparent link to the six attacks in Paris that killed at least 120.

4. France TGV crash: Children on board derailed train (11 in total killed)

Several children were on board when a high-speed train derailed during a test run in France, killing 11 people, the rail company SNCF has said.

Five people are still missing and more than 30 were injured in the TGV crash near the eastern city of Strasbourg.

Investigators are trying to determine who the children are and why they were on board when access was meant to be restricted to technicians.

It is not clear whether children were among the dead.
