Joe Biden: If Donald Trump Is The GOP Nominee, Hillary Clinton 'Wins In A Walk'

Source: Huffington Post

Vice President Joe Biden thinks that if real estate mogul Donald Trump wins the GOP presidential nomination, Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton "wins in a walk."

Speaking to Bloomberg Politics after a diplomatic trip to Ukraine on Tuesday, Biden did not hold back in his criticisms of Trump. He joined the chorus of politicians condemning Trump's proposal to ban all Muslim immigrants, calling it "a very, very dangerous brew for America."

He also wrote off the reality television star's candidacy, dismissing it as "showmanship."

Like Biden, many members of the Republican Party think that if Trump succeeds in becoming their nominee, it would help Clinton, the presumed Democratic nominee, because Trump would alienate moderate and independent voters.

That's with the notable exception of the woman I consider 'America's anchor', Rachel Maddow. If you didn't catch her interview with Bernie tonight, please do so; truly inspiring stuff.

Who would Senator Sanders' running mate be, and how would the rest of America react to the Senator from Vermont after 6 months of a billion dollar GOP advertising campaign against him? The Republicans could spend a billion dollars on the airwaves and internet in Ohio and Florida and win the election.

That's why the GOP is afraid of Secretary Clinton and not Senator Sanders.

The likely Democratic ticket, in my opinion, is Secretaries Clinton and Castro. That kind of dream ticket would force the GOP to play defense in places like Georgia (9.3% Hispanic) and Kentucky and Louisiana and Arkansas. Even Texas (30+% Hispanic) would be interesting. There would be almost no fear of the billion dollar GOP advertising campaign. That would be the kind of wave election we need to get things done.

how American elections actually work? Television advertising has been the main medium of communicating political positions for all of my lifetime. No politician can shake 300,000,000 hands or speak directly to hundreds of millions of people. Buying air time is how candidates get their message out. That is a far cry from buying votes. By the way, isn't Bernie spending a lot of money 'buying' votes in Iowa and NH with paid television advertisements? Or is your candidate the only one allowed to buy air time without it being voter theft? Did Obama buy the last election by spending a billion dollars on his campaign?

Thu Dec 10, 2015, 05:46 PM

unless she uses Bernie Sanders talking points...and she never mentions an issue until Bernie has talk about it,one example might be the inequality of income. Hillary did not mention that until Bernie did and the Media treated Hillary's statements as if they were fresh ideas, after ignoring what Bernie had previously said.
She never comes down on Wall St except to say I have a plan, but never follows up with details.
.....and to counter what you said..If Hillary wins there will be Democrats that will vote for the Republican nominee and we lose the national because people don not want another Clinton or Bush

And no Obama did not buy the last election but he used a hell-of-a- lot talking point that were lies.
And yes he spent a billion but look who the Republican candidate/s were
Liberals did not show for the 2008 and the same for 2012.
If Hillary wins progressives will stay home again.

The more people learn about Bernie, the better he looks to them. Hillary, unfortunately, can't make that claim - and that's what worries me most about having her as the nominee.

Having said that, I wish Biden would keep such thoughts to himself. As we all know, a number of GOP candidates are still holding out hope that GOP voters could begin peeling away from the Donald based on this fear, whether real or imaginary. And if current polls hold, a Carson or Narco Rubio nomination might just clinch it for them (God forbid).

A high-profile Democrat such as the Vice President should never say anything that might help the GOP cattle make a savvy decision.

I think there's a lot to what you said, and I don't doubt that his old backers from the usury lobby are leaning on him to use his popularity in Hillary's favor. To Biden's credit though, he's done so only very sparingly.

I for one would have been happy to vote for him over Hillary, if Bernie weren't running.

"Vice-President Biden confirms that Hillary will be our nominee.

That is not what he said. This is:

"He said he doesn’t plan to endorse Clinton, the former secretary of state and leading contender for the Democratic nomination, or her challengers, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders or former Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley, before the primary contests. He said he told the Democratic candidates that “I’d let the party decide; I would not weigh in.”"

Hillary Clinton will stroll to victory if Donald Trump is nominated as the Republicans' presidential candidate, Vice President Joe Biden has said.

Biden has joined the growing list of politicians, world leaders and celebrities who have condemned Trump for his radical views and comments.

Trump, who leads the race to become the Republican's candidate, proposed the construction of a wall to keep Mexicans out of America and this week said Muslims should be banned from entering the U.S.

Biden, who has served two terms as vice president, said Democrat front runner Clinton 'wins in a walk' if she goes up against Trump.

I don't think anyone really knows what will happen. Stuff that would have killed off any other candidacy ever, just bounces off Trump and makes him stronger.

Couple that with the most lackluster, unlikeable and uninspiring Dem candidate ever in Hillary Clinton, anything could happen, and Trump could very well win.

Or Trump could flame out in spectacular fashion, which would be entertaining to see.
