ST. LOUIS A boisterous Hillary Clinton whipped up a partisan crowd of some 500 supporters Friday night, her voice hoarse from the campaign but virtually yelling nonetheless through a speech heavy on economic themes.
....................................................
Playing to an especially pro-labor audience at the Sheet Metal Workers Union Hall at Jefferson and Chouteau avenues, she outlined an economic plan that would raise the minimum wage, use tax credits to attempt to lure U.S. businesses back to American soil and create a National Infrastructure Bank to overhaul the nations transportation system.
.....................................
Polls lately put Clinton comfortably ahead of her closest challenger for the Democratic nomination, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders. That has largely pushed the Democratic primary out of the headlines lately especially in comparison to the Republican contest, a crowded, ideologically explosive fight fueled mostly by controversial front-runner Donald Trump.
..........................
But the vast majority of time and volume in her speech was dedicated to turning the election into a referendum on economic issues a topic that defined her husbands politics, and which she insisted that Obama also should be able to claim.
...........................................
Without naming any of the Republican presidential contenders, Clinton slammed them en masse for their economic proposals, most of which involve tax cuts that she said would disproportionately help the wealthy.....................................

(6,994 posts)never ever explains "her plan".
Now, can't you just hear CNN news commentator say "Hillary has a plan" with no details of course.
She is using the Karl Rove way of campaigning and we will have to take a second look to see if he is on her staff.
When it comes to economic issues, she will only go so far with her rhetoric,so as not to piss off her Wall St. money tree.
She carefully crafts her statements to impress upon her audience that she really is going to do something about the banking industry, regulations or whatever and people walk away with the same information they had before they listened to her..nothing.
On the other hand Bernie Sanders will explain his plans. The investment tax,the GlassSteagall act for example and how it should be restored. Hillary would not dare go this route.
She has a better plan than the Glass-Steagall act but there again won't give us anything.
Oh yeah..She told Wall St to "cut it out"...I forgot about that one.

New Clinton Ad Highlights A Key Difference Between Her And Deluded GOP
............This widening income gulf between CEOs and their workers has emerged as the foremost economic question of our time. Its rightfully become a centerpiece of the presidential campaign, at least on the Democratic side. There are a number of explanations for why worker pay has stagnated: a low minimum wage, the decline of unions, and the rise of informal, part time work are among them. However, solving this problem requires a plan not rhetoric.
The spot calls for equal pay for women, profit-sharing, raising the minimum wage and cutting taxes for the middle class.
Have a look:
Ultimately, this ad hammers home the difference between Clinton and the GOP. While she offers real solutions, the Republicans are still talking about a flat tax and trickle-down economics, ideas that are both fanciful and failed.

(57,936 posts)Thanks. The article is about her speech, but I did not see a link to her speech.
Article says only 500 in her audience. That's pretty weak!
