AUSTIN, Texas A mock mass shooting near the University of Texas is over with little fanfare after gun rights activists were met by a counter demonstration of noise makers and sex toys.
About a dozen people with the groups Come and Take It Texas and Dontcomply.com briefly marched today with rifles near the 50,000-student campus in Austin. They then quietly gathered several blocks away and pretended to shoot six victims near a chapel with cardboard guns.
A heavy police presence and counter-demonstrators well outnumbered the group.
The gun-rights activists say they purposely moved the event away from the cameras to show that mass shootings can happen anywhere.

(6,241 posts)real mass shooter would use the mock mass shooting as cover. Glad nothing like that happened. This stupid thing is over with no injuries.

(6,241 posts)protest. They marched at the capitol and down congress. I would loved to have gone, if I didn't have to work.
College kids, some with no idea of life-long consequences, alcohol, and you want to add guns to the mix? Sounds like a WONDERFUL plan to me.
