Clinton strengthens lead over Sanders

By Nick Gass

Hillary Clinton's lead in the polls against Bernie Sanders has continued to sustain and rise in both the first caucus state of Iowa and nationally, according to a pair of surveys released Monday.

In the Bloomberg Politics/Des Moines Register poll of Iowa, the former secretary of state earned 48 percent, followed by 39 percent for the independent Vermont senator. Former Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley picked up 4 percent, while 6 percent said they were uncommitted and 2 percent said they were not sure.

In the same October survey, Clinton held a slimmer 7-point advantage over Sanders (48 percent to 41 percent). (Elsewhere, a Fox News poll released Sunday suggested a larger advantage for Clinton in Iowa, at 50 percent to 36 percent over Sanders.)

Doesn't seem like any of the three candidates is building a consensus.

5. Great. Do you think it's gonna be Hillary, then?

I'll vote for her in November. Happy to.

The reason for my asking about a brokered Democratic National Convention is that we may be able to draft a superior candidate.

Of course, Ms. Clinton may convince me before then that she is the superior Democratic candidate.

Seriously. I have been waiting my whole adult life to be able to vote for a qualified woman for president like Hillary. The thought of her being the first woman president is awesome.

6. Why do repubs want Bernie?

People can support who they want, but by the comments many Bernie folks sound like repubs. They use repub talking points to attack Hillary. I have followed Hillary since her work on the Watergate Hearings. The repubs want to run against Bernie. Ever notice how they don't attack Bernie? Repubs are just waiting to unload on him with their tons of money if he gets the Dem nominaton. They fear Hillary.

ground. BS hasn't been seriously vetted. Hillary Clinton's professional & personal life has been sifted through relentlessly. There's nothing they can throw at her at this point. We're seeing socialist governments around the globe being rejected & thrown out. All the Repukes would need to do is associate BS with those failed governments, and the election would be over.

12. There will not be a brokered Democratic Convention. Barring a convention concession by Sanders....

....Clinton will get right around 60% of the delegates. If he concedes right after Super Tuesday (a possibility) or just before the Convention, she'll get the nomination by acclamation.

10. The poll is 'news' but this should be in GD-P since it deals with the Democratic primary.

Of course, DU rules prohibit this from GD but not from LBN so it can stay.
