American Postal Workers Union Condemns DNC Attack on the Bernie Sanders Campaign

Source: APWU

The APWU joins with all fair-minded individuals and organizations in condemning the Democratic National Committee (DNC) attack on the Bernie Sanders campaign for U.S. president. At a crucial time in the primary process, the Sanders campaign is arbitrarily being denied access to the DNC voter data base from all 50 states. This includes crucial voter information files that belong to the Sanders campaign.

The actions of the DNC are simply an effort to undermine the Sanders campaign, which has captured the imagination and support of millions of people. The DNC action is an attempt to rig the election.

We encourage all people who believe in democracy, no matter their affiliation or candidate of choice, to voice their outrage, sign petitions and demand that the Bernie Sanders campaign have access to the DNC voter files fully restored.

“We, the People,” deserve nothing less.

the "little people" are awakening. Now back to those big Union Bosses who arbitrarily backed Clinton...because they could...maybe their members might have a different opinion. This could be interesting.

Just the bosses.

What I've read is that the sander's campaign's actions were were unacceptable and should not have been taken.

Jeff Weaver, Sanders’ campaign manager:

"Clearly, while that information was made available to our campaign because of the incompetence of the vendor, it should not have been looked at. Period"

Sanders communications director Michael Briggs:

"After discussion with the DNC it became clear that one of our staffers accessed some modeling data from another campaign. That behavior is unacceptable, and that staffer was immediately fired."

What the Sander's campaign did was unethical and stupid.

I've given money to Bernie today because of this, signed the DFA and MoveOn petitions and contacted the DNC directly.

This bullshit has to stop.

Progressives are justifiably outraged at what appears to be a power play by the Democratic establishment. Over just the past couple of hours, more than 50,000 DFA members have signed on to stand with Bernie Sanders against it.

snip

It seems like the DNC is doing all it can to blunt the momentum of Bernie's campaign -- just 24 hours after it received major endorsements from DFA and the Communication Workers of America.

First, the DNC refused to schedule an appropriate number of debates -- and hid the ones they did schedule by setting them up near holidays or on weekend nights.

Now, in a huge overreaction to a situation involving a security glitch by a data vendor, the DNC has completely removed the Sanders campaign's access to its very own voter file data -- and they won't say when or if they will give it back.
