Arrest Warrant Issued for Bill Cosby for Alleged January 2004 Sexual Assault of Andrea Constand

An arrest warrant has been issued for entertainer Bill Cosby for allegedly drugging and sexually assaultingformer Temple employee Andrea Constand at his Elkins Park, Pennsylvania mansion in January 2004, sources tell PEOPLE.

Constand was not available for comment but one of her attorneys expressed gratitude toward the prosecutor.

"Obviously we appreciate the expression of confidence in her," says Dolores Troiani of her client, Constand, 42, who is now a massage therapist in Ontario, Canada. "We'll have to see what happens. We hope justice will be done. We will cooperate fully."

Cosby has previously said what happened between him and Constand was consensual, but in new court filings last summer Constand said she was in a relationship with a woman at the time. She also called Cosby a "narcissist" who missed cues that she's gay.

So after 10 years of sitting, a tangled web just got revealed. The outgoing GOP DA (who is about to take a seat on the PA Common Pleas court) decided to open this case up on her way out as the GOP candidate for her job (who had previously been DA before her and was the DA at the time of this assault) was being pummeled by the Democrat running against him about letting this sit... In the end, it didn't help the GOP as the Democrat won this past November.

Looks like Montgomery County is about to get back in the news again (if folks might recall the mess with Tweety's brother).

22. I expect that the new DA (Kevin Steele) will follow through

since he is very familiar with the issue (he was the #2 in that office) and he made it a campaign issue (apparently the statue of limitations was about to run out in January). But the other issue that is bubbling under the surface is the scandal surrounding the current PA State Attorney General (also a Democrat) who is currently under investigation out of that same County's office (and Steele is the lead prosecutor for that case). So Montco is the center a firestorm.

They have to have more evidence than hearsay. The he said / she said argument is not compelling in a courtroom.

All of the other allegations from other women are just that, allegations, and they will not be admissible as evidence in his trial.

Before someone goes off on me; I absolutely believe that these women are telling the truth, i'm just interested in the methodology a prosecution will have to go through to get a conviction.
