Obama Camp: Trump Moment Shows “Lack Of Moral Leadership” By Romney

The Obama campaign tore into Mitt Romney for holding a fundraiser with Donald Trump despite Trump’s continued birtherism Tuesday. From Obama deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter:

“Mitt Romney’s continued embrace of Donald Trump and refusal to condemn his disgraceful conspiracy theories demonstrates his complete lack of moral leadership. Now he’s even standing by silently as Trump assails John McCain’s courage in standing up to the most extreme and hateful voices in the Republican Party—all in order to raise money for himself. If Mitt Romney lacks the backbone to stand up to a charlatan like Donald Trump because he’s so concerned about lining his campaign’s pockets, what does that say about the kind of president he would be?”

If I was one of Mitt Romney's advisers, I would suggest that he prepare a speech for him that specifically distances himself from Trump's remarks on bitherism. Look, we all know the problems with birtherism; the biggest problem is that this widely debunked conspiracy theory attacks the legitimacy of the president's office. It's a very long-winded, undignified character attack of the President of the United States.

To stand by Trump and say nothing only reaffirms criticism from the Obama campaign and people with common sense that Romney is, in fact, weak. He won't stand up to Rush Limbaugh. He won't stand up to Donald Trump. Does the man ever stand up to anything? This is really his last chance to separate himself from Trump's remarks. We got a long election season ahead of us. If he goes into the GOP convention with this apathy toward extremist remarks by his surrogates, then that apathy is going to hurt him with independents when the general election comes around.

What an obsequious MF'er! The fact that he's standing there kissing Trump's rump while acting like his sidekick displays his "leadership" skills. This is why people hate him: he's running for POTUS and yet he's managed to get himself upstaged by a clown like Trump. He looks desperate - not a trait we want in our president.

His comment about only needing fifty one percent of the vote and he'll take it from anywhere showed his character - or his lack of it.

Not enogh faux news sheeple or true 1%ers to give this asshat a chance. The worst candidate ever. At least Dumbya had a fake "real person" persona. This guy reeks elitism. Even if the bagger types overlook that they will never accept his Mormonism. I have overheard a few talking about it. They won't vote for the "Muslin" of course but not enough will come out for Willard.
