‘Girls’ Creator Lena Dunham Visits Iowa on Tour to Support Hillary Clinton

IOWA CITY —....

On Saturday, Lena Dunham, who created the character and portrays her on the show, traveled to Iowa. She was not there to soul search, as Ms. Horvath was, but to convince Iowans to support Hillary Clinton less than three weeks before the state’s caucuses begin the presidential nominating process.

Making stops in Iowa City and Des Moines in sub-freezing temperatures, Ms. Dunham, 29, made a feminist pitch to packed audiences of mostly young women about why they should vote for Mrs. Clinton. It is not because she would be the first woman president, she argued, but because of what she stands for.

“I find her conviction very moving and her tenacity astounding,” Ms. Dunham said to a crowd crammed inside a coffee shop in Iowa City.



Fresh off similar stops in New Hampshire and a stint commandeering Mrs. Clinton’s Instagram account, Ms. Dunham has become a crucial ambassador for the Democratic presidential candidate as she looks to solidify her support among millennial women.

“Nothing gets me angrier than when people say I’m voting for Hillary Clinton simply because she’s female,” Ms. Dunham said to applause. “It’s as if I have some feminist version of beer goggles. Let’s call it estrogen blindness.”

It is ending at the time and place that HBO and Dunham plan to; saying "canceled" makes it sound like it is ending due to unpopularity.

Perhaps you're used to rote police procedurals on network tv, 15-year bloated monstrosities like CSI or Law and Order, but out in the premium world were quality is valued over quantity...Sopranos, Nurse Jackie, etc...a 6-season run hits the sweet spot.
