Updated 4:13 pm, Saturday, January 30, 2016

PHOENIX (AP) — Members of the Phoenix City Council are seeking a new rule to stop a satanic group from delivering the opening prayer at an upcoming meeting.

KPNX-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1RRPO9E) that City Manager Ed Zuercher said Friday night that a council meeting will weigh a proposal next week on changing how the city schedules groups that give the prayer.

Four council members want the new rule to be enacted within 24 hours.

The Satanic Temple of Tucson submitted a request in December to the city clerk's office. The group was scheduled to participate in a Feb. 17 meeting.

Madison also made a point that any believer of any religion should understand: that the government sanction of a religion was, in essence, a threat to religion. "Who does not see," he wrote, "that the same authority which can establish Christianity, in exclusion of all other Religions, may establish with the same ease any particular sect of Christians, in exclusion of all other Sects?" Madison was writing from his memory of Baptist ministers being arrested in his native Virginia.

council decides that if it ain't christian ain't nobody giving a prayer. Chicken shits.

Thing about it is on this is that the Satanic Temple sues govt's. They are very effective in fundraising for lawsuits. Can't wait to see how the one in Missouri and the waiting period on abortions comes out.
