AP: Ted Cruz bests Trump, Rubio in tight Republican caucuses

Source: AP, Chicago Tribune, MSNBC

Ted Cruz came out on top in the leadoff Republican presidential caucuses in Iowa, pushing aside Donald Trump and emerging from the pack of candidates.

Cruz bested the billionaire and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio in an intense fight for the GOP vote.

As the first presidential primary contest of 2016, Iowa's decision will shape the path of the Republican race. Trump has surged atop national polls with his aggressive populism and packed rallies, while Cruz carved out support in Iowa with his fiery conservatism and methodical outreach. Rubio is working to emerge as the clear favorite in his party's mainstream wing, which fears either Cruz or Trump would be disastrous in a general election matchup against the Democratic nominee.

Dan Sadler, a 43-year-old mechanic from Des Moines, caucused for Cruz and was attending his party at the fairgrounds. Sadler said he was attracted to Cruz because he is a Christian, his father is a pastor and the Texas senator "stands on the truth."

I think Dumbya was the last time a republican that won a contested Iowa and got the nomination.
Didn't Buchanan take it in '92?
I think Dole actually did win it in '96

But I don't think I've seen any candidate from either party that oozes as much delusional megalomania as Rafael does (though Steve Forbes comes close).

And to think the man isn't even qualified to be President!

Trump never cared about winning in Iowa.
He expected to finish 4th behind Cruz, Rubio and someone else
He's actually THE WINNER

Just ask him
I have a feeling that will be the spin his campaign gives

Though it's probably a good thing he lost ask Republican nominees Santorum, Shuckleby, and Buchanan how well Iowa worked for them

The real importance of these results is that Rubio took third place, with a respectable showing. The establishment and big money (Adelson, Koch Brothers, Karl Rove) will now put their billions behind Rubio. He may be a more palatable candidate against the eventual Democratic nominee. I am hoping that Cruz and Trump begin to take Rubio down......

Oh, and it looks like we're losing Huckabee as a candidate. Don't be sad - Jim Gilmore is still in the race!

Cruz is literally a Dominionist theocrat who was declared an "anointed king" by his crazy preacher dad. Trump is a Fascist who wants tyo "final solution" Muslims and Hispanics.
