Defense: George Zimmerman In Police Custody

Source: Associated Press

(06-03) 10:56 PDT MIAMI (AP) --

The defense team for George Zimmerman, the man charged in the killing of Trayvon Martin, says he is in police custody in Florida.

Zimmerman's legal team said in a tweet Sunday that he was in police custody, two days after a judge ordered him back to jail. Zimmerman's bail was revoked because the judge said he and his wife lied to the court about their finances so he could obtain a lower bond.

On Sunday afternoon, about 40 minutes before the 2:30 p.m. deadline to surrender, Zimmerman was listed as an inmate on the jail website. He was listed as being held without bail and having $500 in his jail account.

No one needs to spend that much. Did he buy snack for the entire Pod? I am speechless. Even if he bought phone cards and undies along with snacks.. that's simply crazy .
In the news clip he looks like he put on 20 pounds since the court appearance in May.

....another person had to help carry the bags of belongings out to the car. Ostensibly, he went to jail with nothing and came out with bags of stuff.

You may lie to the police which itself is a risk that you will be found to have lied but when you lie to a judge they have you by the proverbial .....n...a...d...s..and is not afraid to use his/her power to hold you accountable.

This really changes the dynamic of the case. If George was the victim as he says he was and how he was attacked by Trayvon, the fact he lied about facts around his bond hearing suggests he is an habitual liar.

Me thinks this bodes ill for him going forward. His credibility and veracity are now highly suspect.

He said the money was under the control of his law firm and now we find out it is in a Credit Union account. Also, Zimmerman reported his Passport lost/stolen 2 weeks after the shooting and obtained a replacement -- only thing is, he only turned in the Passport reported missing and kept the new Passport. Then there is the issue of Zimmerman talking in code to his wife regarding his Credit Union account while previously in custody. Is O'Mara this inept or is he advising Zimmerman on how to proceed. I think the Judge should go after the conduct of O'Mara as well as the conduct of the Zimmerman's.

i'm hoping the judge holds him without bond until the trial because i don't trust FL juries at all.

If it was false, he is in a world of hurt.

They used Mail Fraud to bring down Capone. Some of these Fed statutes are real bears. Don't recommend trying to dance on that line.

But when he allegedly found the second one, he didn't get rid of it. He KNEW he had two valid passports, and he should have turned them both in with an explanation.

18. I want to know more about the money held in "trust"

This case makes me feel like we're all living in a Twilight Zone. A cop wanna-be kills an innocent teenager, and then becomes the beneficiary of hundreds of thousands of dollars from "supporters"? How utterly disgusting.

Now we're hearing about some kind of "trust" that GZ cannot access. Is this the case? If he can't get the money, then who can? Is this separate from the PayPal account set up to receive "donations"?

Aside from the cold-blooded murder of an innocent child, the money aspect of this case is the most sleazy element. Just how much money, in total, has GZ -- or his surrogates -- received? Who is sending this money, and for what?

So many questions.....
