EXPERT TESTIFIES RAVENSMEAD BEHEADING WAS NOT A SATANIC RITUAL

CAPE TOWN - A police expert has testified the beheading of a Ravensmead teenager is unlikely to have been part of a satanic ritual.
Twenty-year-old Aljar Swarts is on trial in the Western Cape high court for the mutilation and murder of Lee Adams in October 2013. Adams decapitated body was found in an abandoned school, while his head was found buried in a shallow grave in the accuseds backyard.
The defence asked police crime scene investigator Phillip Becker whether the murder couldve been part of a satanic ritual, but Becker replied that he hadnt identified any satanic paraphernalia. He testified that hes completed a course in psychologically motivated crime and that if it had been a satanic murder, the body wouldve been washed and presented.
The question arose after the defence found a picture that was taken at the crime scene, of what it believes resembles a bird drawn in blood. But Becker explained the entire pattern in the picture looks like a blood-soaked cloth that was rubbed against the wall.

(6,785 posts)to murder someone in what they think is a Satanic ritual are going to draw a bird and stop at that.
Satanists aren't prone to stuff like this anyway, and the people that are nuts enough to do something like this and call it Satanism would've painted that place up like a twelve year old's notebook.

(14,174 posts)Seriously, what kind of defense attorney pursues this motive? Now if it was if the perp was influenced by some movie or rock band then he was obvlously mentally ill if he actually believed through these influences that there was a real Satan, and he was telling him to kill. I mean jeez, are we still living in the Witch trial days?
