Jeb Bush confronted like never before by worried supporters

Source: Washington Post

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. — He's stuck in the polls and just lost a major endorsement. And now voters are in open panic about the fate of Jeb Bush.

The Republican presidential candidate was barraged by conflicting advice from supporters increasingly distressed by the rise of GOP front-runner Donald Trump and that the former Florida governor's campaign has stalled.

One guy urged him to talk more about his compassion. Another told him to take Trump's attacks on the chin and stay substantive. A third man urged him to work harder to spread the word nationally.

Never before had Bush faced supporters so annoyed and worried about his fate. They quickly turned a campaign rally on a country club gazebo here into an open campaign strategy session — with dozens of reporters watching.

Look, I want Hillary to win, then Bernie.

But if I had to choose a GOPer to possibly win, between Trump, Rubio and Jeb, I'd probably choose Jeb.

I don't want to see him drop out.

I don't want him running through country, but vs Trump or Rubio...I'd choose Jeb.

So I think he should shake things up.

The Bushes have too much money and power behind them. Jeb would finish was GWB started. If I HAD to choose a GOPer, I'd pick Trump. First of all, he's not really a Republican, especially on social issues. Secondly, he would NEVER win a second term and we'd likely run someone not very divisive in 2020. Third, he'd help us get Congress back. Fourth, none of his ridiculous rhetoric could be backed up by any actual legislation. Fifth, he actually WANTS to be liked so he'd probably (shamelessly and unapologetically!) backpedal on a lot of the crap he's been saying. The worst things would be our world standing would suffer and his tax plan is as bad as the rest of them. And, on the latter, we'd be equally screwed by them all anyway. All in all, Trump is probably the least troublesome despite all the hateful stuff he's spewing.

You see how Trump speaks to other countries.

Your plan sounds rational, but we'd all have to live for 4 years without being nuked or WW3.

Trump literally could get us there, with no exaggeration.

When Bush began speaking to a crowd of 150 people at a country club here, the microphone on his lapel didn’t work. “I can’t do anything about it,” he snapped at someone in the crowd who said they couldn’t hear him. “I’ve got to keep on talking.”

he's so dull it's thrilling.

And he's dropping gazillions of dollars on what appears to be one of the most disastrous political campaigns ever.

I'm guessing Jeb's people contacted Governor Haley seeking her endorsement. Looks like she said no.

Poor Jeb.

He said that in a debate. The stupid picture on Twitter of a gun labeled America. Him asking for applause after he said something stupid at a small speaking event. Him getting the mic taken from him at another small event. The list goes on and on. My brother kept us safe! The crowd gasped in horror as Trump had the gall to make the outrageous claim that the plane attacks on NYC happened while his brother was president. The list goes on and on. His whole patrician clan just knows they are all so superior to Trump and all the others has to drive them insane.

The US Republican Presidential candidate Jeb Bush is pro-gun rights and behind in the polls, so when he purchased his first firearm, he had probably hoped to receive support on social media.

The former Florida governor's new handgun, inscribed with his name on the slide, has been re-tweeted more than 19,000 times and met with widespread mockery around the world.

Bush tweeted a picture of his gun alongside the word "America", seeking to burnish his pro-gun credentials and patriotism as his campaign moves into the conservative state of South Carolina.

But if the USA is defined by its relationship to firearms, Twitter provided the answer for how best to represent other countries across the world.

He has all the charisma of a turnip and his delivery has all the grace of a full drum kit falling down several flights of stairs.

Just last year, he told seniors he plans on cutting their earned benefits. Who's running this circus?

America is finally, at long last sick of the Bush family. It's about damned time.
